Find Your Inner Smurf
Find your inner Smurf! And wth that Brainy, (poorly) smurf is going back to bed.

Muse before bed.

I was just musing over at my yahoo group, (one of them) how my brain goes into over-drive before a bout of increasing illness usually. Mixed with the poor blood supply I have had all day up there, I think it likely i am reading the signs of being about to be hit by a deterioration again. But what thought did occur to me, is how for years and years, when the medical folks were under the apprehension I had schizoprhenia, I would get this brain over drive, which always led me to a false sense of well being. One of the standard symptoms for schizophrenia is a false sense of well-being. And yet has time has proved, this illness has its roots in purely physical causes. Oh yeah, the psyche criteria and markers are very good at what they do are they not? Which basically with the drugs they give folks often leads to them messing with folks head (as a result of the drugs on the brain) more than ever there heads are actually wrong! I'm too tired to persue this now. And have blagged far too much for one day. Guess over drive leads to extra activity.

Love 'Em or hate 'em?

One foot in hell...
Well, I often think we as Chritians (myself included) dont look high enough or value eternity enough while here on earth. And its almost as if we have one foot in heaven, and yet the other on the slippery road that leads to hades. And I have never said nor thought that all Roman Catholics are unregenrate. As there's Scriptural reasons to believe that true believeers are in every church, Popish ones included. Yet, the pope and his bishops, I think as teachers, decievers, betrayers of people's souls, and the epitomy of the Anti-Christ, well Pope John Paul maybe a nice old man, but IMO he's a nice old man who wouldn't know a Biblical truth if it bit him on the ****. But as for the one foot in Heaven, and the other on the slippery that leads to Hades that many or most of us seem to have most of the time, It seems like the Vatican has its own short cut to hades!

And with that, in the words of Jack Killian the fictional TV radio host/private detective, "Goodnight, America, wherever you are!" (I loved that oft used line in that proggie when it was on)

Ahh, Those were the Days

Remember when one could eat British Beef without a care or concern in the world? I honestly thought that when I first started getting ill, that spongy brain desease (mad cow or CJD) may have come my way. Beef has long been my preffered meat, whether real beef, steak, beefburgers or ground/minced beef. Ah life used to be so simple before, before, ummm.. before it got complicated by artificial intelligence!! My intelligence may not be real up there as high, but tis real at least. Anyone would know, if you are feeding animals scrapie then the animals are not going to do well and thrive and may even have serious problems. Farmers have gone bust all over the country over the last decade. If the Mad Cow desease didnt wipe out there herds then foot and mouth did, many of them were so desperate they took their own lives. Now while we may not condone self harm, I'm sure we can feel for their plight and the desperation they felt. Was this what God meant for us to have dominion over live-stock? To feed them so poorly and so inappropriately, that we not only wipe out half of the animals in question, but also take the risk of having a mad cow desease plague that could wipe out half of England or more in the years to come. This is not a wild speculation, it is a fact that could happen. The trouble with that desease it can lay dormant for years and years. But don't worry, this mad cow ain't thinking of travelling overseas just yet, so y'all are safe!!

More money than sense!
(AP) - "An Internet casino has won in the bidding for a pretzel said to be shaped like the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus.
"Golden Palace Casino swooped in about 30 seconds before bidding closed Wednesday evening on the Internet auction site eBay. The winning bid: $10,600 US. The Casino previously bought a partially eaten grilled cheese sandwich said to resemble the Virgin Mary
"The pretzel drew 56 bids. The second-highest was $10,500." FULL STORY And folks can probably ease up on offering Marian prayers now, or to the winner of the auction above, PLEASE QUIT PRAYING TO THE PRETZEL and we can all rest easy, cos Pope John Paul is expected to be back in the Vactican for the next Church calendar Holy Day. If folks read THIS and then can tell me for one minute what the flippin' heck this pagan holiday has to do with Christ or the church then please let me know!
"The Mass in itself is a renunciation of the death of Jesus Christ, and a sacrilege fashioned by satan to snuff out the sacrament of the supper. Neither can they deny that the prayers made to the saints, and the dispensations made regarding trespasses are so many abuses which profane the invocation of the name of God, which is the holiest of all things. Watch Out...
[Edited blag]
For this predator. I'm sure if Whacko Jacko is found guilty of these latest allegations, that he will need a good disguise. So, watch out for someone who looks thus: And if anyone works out what the cow has to do with anything, then please let the rest of us know. And with that, I'm off to rest.

But Fear Not. We have a description of what he really looks like!! Tho with whacko, that could've changed by now! (i would question some things on this profile however, such as "sex" "Race" "eye colour" (c'mon, if you can change ones skin colour you can easily change ones eye colour!)and think it should state too, "member of the human race" just so's not to confuse folks too much!

Odds and Bod's
Well, technology has never daunted me. Fortunately so. But my new fad is sticky notes. Not puterized ones, just your bog standard write on with a pen sticky post-it notes. You scribble a note, and then spend an hour trying to decipher two words cos one is so used to typing rather than writing, ones handwriting skills, have gone completely to pot! Ain't technology wonderful?
But on another note, (no pun intended) I have come across a few kewl new proggies lately. The first one is not free, but it relates to the note theme, and a friend seems to like it, and if like her, you can pick up a used copy of it, it seems to be pretty good production wise. i am downloading a trial version even as I type, to see if I feel its worth my time looking around for a used copy afterwards. One Note
Another very kewl proggie I have got and like enormously, and tis FREE (always a bonus) is the Copernic search agent, which is much more specific search oriented than googling your query. And it can run independantly as a programme menu item, and be integrated into ones browser.
And another kewl FREE utility I recently came across is Clocx where if you are like me, and find it hard to keep track of time, keep appts, or even be sure what day of the flippin' week it is, then this is kewl too. You can even set an alarm so that why you are asleep, or out, at a certain time it will shut down your PC.

Quick Thought...
In this world...
This I write to admonish you, that albeit yet you shall see tribulation so abound, that nothing shall appear but extreme misery, without all hope of comfort; yet you [should] not decline from God. And that albeit sometimes you are moved to hate the messengers of life, that therefore you shall not judge that God will never show mercy after. No, dear brethren, as he has entreated others before you, so will he do [to] you.
God will suffer tribulation and dolour to abound, that no manner of comfort shall be seen in man, to the intent that, when deliverance comes, the glory may be his, whose word only [alone] may pacify the most vehement tempests. [John Knox]
John 16:32-34

I maybe quoting John Knox quite a bit when using quotes for the foreseeable future. As I'm currently reading of his life and work, and he's waaay up there with Doc Martin, ISTM. But maybe I just like those kind of guys who have a message and yet are deliver it in a way that's a bit rough around the edges to most folks today. I was reading a sermon or maybe a treatise by Calvin the weekend, how many people saw him as unloving and unkind and basically didn't give a hoot. As he was there to promote the Word of God and not himself. It was in his answer to the nicodemites. And John Knox is often portrayed as a callous, less than gracious soul, and its picked up often about his young wife, and all these points are used to downgrade his life and ministry in an attempt to mock him. Yet, he was also a man of great compassion, which is often overlooked, but anyone who reads his epistles to his mother-in-law and one or two others, let alone his work in Scotland to attend to the needs of the underpriveledged, the sick, needy, impoverished, in a Godly manner, the facts speak for themselves and blow the myths out of the water. Plain speaking or bluntness, can be a bad thing, yet this man had a fire in his belly and that fire burned soley with love for the Lord. As he said to Mary Queen of Scots when she asked him if he was not answerabe to his Queen. He was answerable to God before any man or woman King and Queen's included. Oh, for more men like John Knox. The idols f our ages would soon be torn down. See: 1 Kings 18:39-40 Numbers 25:6-8 2 Kings 9:21-36 And aren't the words in Isa 3 true today, because there are not more men like John knox?
And in case the above examples seem offensive to today's 21st century Christian. Well, they ain't my words but God. But, as John Knox said in another work:
"My words shall appear to some sharp and indiscreetly spoken; but as charity ought to interpret all things to the best, so ought wise men to understand, that a true friend cannot be a flatterer, especially when the questions of salvation (both of body and soul) are moved and not that of one nor of two, but as it were of a whole realm and nation. What are the sobs, and what is the affection of my troubled heart, God shall one day declare. But this will I add to my former rigour and severity, to wit, if any persuade you (for fear of dangers that may follow) to faint in your former purpose, be he never esteemed so wise and friendly, let him be judged of you both foolish and your mortal enemy: foolish, for because he understands nothing of God's approved wisdom; and enemy unto you, because he labours to separate you from God's favour provoking his vengeance and grievous plagues against you, because he would that you should prefer worldly rest to God's praise and glory, and the friend ship of the wicked to the salvation of your brethren. "
And if anyone happens to know of a link for the Covenant of Dun, would they please post it in the comments.
Okay, so maybe not just a quick thought, but a quick thought AND a rant!! Depending on how the nite goes, I may be back to be altogether in lighter frame of mind! ;-)

Wake me when it's over....
APPARENTLY prince charles and his ole nag are to have royal mail postage stamps issued to commemorate their wedding. In fact lets quit calling them Prince Charles and his ole nag as since Charles is well known for and caricatured cos of his big ears, lets just call them Noddy and big ears from hereonin.
But, I can think of worse things than spitting at royalty, which when one licks the back of a postage stamp, is undoubtely what one is doing.
LONDON (AP) - Photos of Prince Charles and his bride-to-be Camilla Parker Bowles grace a set of royal wedding commemorative postage stamps unveiled by Britain's Royal Mail on Wednesday.
Britons will have a choice of two Charles and Camilla commemorative stamps, which will go on sale at post offices on April 8, the couple's wedding day. A 30-pence (70 cents Cdn) stamp features a profile of the couple looking relaxed and laughing heartily, while a 68-pence ($1.6) stamp, commonly used for posting letters overseas, shows Charles and Camilla in a formal pose Full Story

A song, a dog, passing time.
Well no one who knows me well will not know how music like this floats my boat! (hush!) This was from around 1979, and a few months within this song being released, I had a puppy, guess what she was named? Chiquitita of course is Spanish for "little girl" and I always have/had female dogs. Yep! never once shortened and anyone who did took the risk of bodily harm! Its true as far as dogs go, (ones I've had) that Lucy was my darling, yet this one had to be next on the list maybe even equal tho in a different way. As she grew she had a nobility about her, that none of my other dogs have ever had. Laugh at her if she slipped or jumped and missed or something she would sit with her back to you. But, in those dark days she probably was my closest companion. And the song kind of reflected where I was at at that time, of life gone, too painful to want to go on, not desiring to, and yet my own little chiquitita, over time, altered the meaning of this song, tho even now, it can still be a reminder of the pain, grief, despair, and longing for peace when Chiquitita would spend hours licking my tears away. And sometimes I still feel like I'm waiting to sing that new song, and the chains of sorrow are binding. But the darkness of these days, which we all have to a larger or smaller extent, is not so binding as then.
From

To:

Chiquitita
Abba
Chiquitita, tell me what's wrong
You're enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
I'm a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, I'm the one you must rely on
You were always sure of yourself
Now I see you've broken a feather
I hope we can patch it up together
Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving
You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
So the walls came tumbling down
And your love's a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
I see that you're oh so sad, so quiet
Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving
You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving
Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita

Quick Thought
"It is the purpose of the church, to lick the fur of the state." (Martin Luther)
[Edited Blag]
I'm hoping to expand and unpack this quote a bit of Doc Martin's later. With a general election later in the year in the U.K. With the future King of England about to marry the woman he was fornicating with while on honeymoon right up until the marriage ended, it makes one want to weep with shame to be in this land, that these people as many others here and elsewhere have been given places of honour over the people. Oh for more rulers like King Josiah and Asa who renewed and sought to keep the Covenant.
[Re-edited blag]
On my radical soapbox
Thoughts and musings on this subject are incomplete. But seeing as Prime Minister Blair had laid the gauntlet down by calling a general election this year, I will no doubt return to it at some point. Can someone please telephone the P.M and ask him to come read my blog!
Two of the biggest subjects during any general election here, well no 3 actually, is Education, The Welfare State (i.e. Social security) and the state of the N.H.S. (national health service, which for those who may not be aware we don't pay for medical treatment here, but have socialized medicine a very similar kind to what is in Canada as much as I can gather) I may not cover all these topics in one blag due to time constraints and to keep a readable length.
One thing over many, many years that has got my goat,

has been the fraudulent use and those who abuse by various means the social security system. I've seen this first hand over a long time.
One woman I know, technically had the label of epileptic. She had one seizure maybe every 3 years and was fully able in all other ways, yet because of her epilepsy she claimed disability benefits. A guy I knew who supposedly suffered from some kind of depressive illness, or I think so, as memory recalls, was claiming disability benefit, and working for his dad earning two hundred and fifty quid a week. And even those with serious disabilities do very often know how to work the system to their own advantadge and those in genuine need are often lft wanting. i recall a case on our news several years ago, of a guy who had severe cerebral Palsy. He couldn't feed himself, wash himself, or dress himself. All he did was move home to somewhere more suitable to his needs, and he lost his disability benefit.
Now Scotland in eons gone by, would seem to have a formula for rooting out all the fraudulent cases and those in need would not be neglected or uncared for.

Dear Mr Blair,

We need to reinstitute the labels for those in financial need, of "Sturdy beggars" and "impotent beggars." Suchas in the days of the Scottish Reformation. The impotent beggars were the type of people who were on hard times purely because of their circumstances and thru no fault of there own. The Sturdy beggars were those who were perfectly able bodied, and tho they may not have work right now, there was absolutely no reason to put them on the pile of those in genuine need, at least not long term. There circumstances had often been aggravated by their own actions.
Now, in these days, you fill a form in, and send it back to ones local security office. Sometimes they come and visit you and often ask for doctors reports, and stuff like that. For those who are inclined by nature to decieve, its quite easy to pull the wool over their eyes, as case after case bears witness to.
In the days of the Scottish Reformation however, the church took care of those in need, and to see exactly who were genuinely in need, those on hard time and in poverty were sent back to whre they had lived most of their lives, where people knew them and of their circumstances, so not much chance of pulling the wool over anyones eyes.
There was a report in an American publicaton not that long ago, which said if two or three of the better off in any place contributed towards those in real need, that poverty in America would be eradicated. And as far as the church goes centuries ago, it was the church who took care of its flock, based on the principles above.
So, Prime Minister Blair, you keep harping on about how money and resources are running out. We can all understand that under the present system. But if your govt and those in future was to renew the Covenant and tear down idols, like King Josiah did in
2 King's 23 we the people would submit to your authority, as it would be a huge step to turning our nation back to God. But you have tear down these idols Mr Blair, and fight to protect and defend not every Tom, Dick and Harriet's civil rights, but seek to protect the rights and crown of King Jesus.
Doc Martin said as the quote above. "Its the purpose of the church to lick the fur of the state." and I am currently sandpapering my tongue to try and get the govt to clean up their act! Be afraid Mr Blair. Be very afraid!!!

[Edited blag]
I think...
The pressure is getting to him!

Wouldn't it you?

I heard a review of this book today, and its about the papacy historically. I'm not sure if it goes up to the current day. But its written by a former Roman Catholic and apparently it tells of more evil and perversion within the Papal office than anything written by a protestant has done. It was in the best sellers list for some time, but it suddenly was removed, tho not because it fell short, but the powers that be, (I wonder who that would be in this world) deemed it too un PC and against public opinion to let it remain on the list. Its not something that would be top of my list to read or get, but over time I may do.

Six Months
I'm going to copy and paste and email I sent a friend and then add a bit on:
I don't know if its a one off.. or if me taking asprin x2 a day all week,is whats made the difference..but tho the week was rough, there was a little improvement each day. Today I woke with no liver area pain, and feeling better than I have months. I just got back from public worship at church for the first time in six months.
But iron and lots of other stuff.(often neuro). can cause ones blood to be so thick and clotty, your brain and organs starve of oxygen.. I'm not banking this is feeling better is permanent.. but I'm grateful for how long it lasts.. even if by tomorrow its gone pear shaped again. But today was/is good. I'd forgotten how it felt.
I also was aware of how my church is pushing forth the value and often overlooked how much it worth, of the Old Testament, and I am grateful for any discussions with folks there that God has blesed and is bearing fruit. And no one was expecting me, but two out of three of the worship praises was psalm singing. which is something I've not known before. If its all gone pear shaped tomorrow, God spoke clearly today. As last week, when I truly felt I may not see another day, and I was thoroughly miserable and lower than I ever recall, I kept praying as David did, that I would give thousands of days elsewhere, for one day in the Lord's House. By the time tonite came, I was tired, and knowing how doing anything extra often knocks me back and takes it out of me, the temptation was not to push it. But, I remembered this prayer I kept offering all of last weekend, and I could either put my money where my mouth was, and go and not worry about the consequences, or be a hypocrite and liar before God. When the rubber meets the road, integrity is important so I went. God is good!

Quick Thought
"It is most unseemly when men are seeking to find out truth, if then they shall piddle about words, catch at phrases, get hold of expressions, and seek to to make their advantages out of them. And perhaps these insignificant points are the greatest strength of their answer, which may have a specious value before men, who are willing to receive anything which supports their case against what opinion they want to crush. Yet this will not abide before the throne of Christ" [Jeremiah Burroughs]

I saw this picture posted at...
Brother John's blog. It seemed rather poignant .

Give Me a Chance
Hey, Little Boy, what would you like to be someday?
Maybe an astronaut who zooms around in space?
No, I will be the one who finds a cure for cancer.
I will not rest until I've finally found the answer.
All I need is just a chance to live.
Hey, Little Girl, where in the world are you going?
It's hard to tell with one so small, no way of knowing.
I'm headed on an airplane for the Middle East.
I'll be the one to forge a treaty bringing peace.
All I need is just some time to grow.
Just give me a chance.
Hey, Mr. Politician, can you hear their voices?
Your deafness feigned to gain the vote of those with choices.
When I am home alone and shut off all the noise,
I hear the pleading of those little girls and boys.
All I need is just a chance to live.
All I need is just some time to grow.
Just give me a chance.
