Dogs. Still men, womens, and just about anyones friend!

Well, I had a dog that could sense seizures too. She was the dim wittetest tho gentlest of dogs. And I always figured it was her sensitivity which led to that.

Canadian researchers writing in the journal Neurology in June reported that 18 of 122 dogs belonging to epileptic children were able to sense, minutes ahead of time, when a child was about to have a seizure, and about 30 others showed unique reactions to a seizure event (including in some cases trying to protect the child from danger). Also in June, researchers at Germany's Max Planck Institute reported that Rico, a border collie they have studied for several years, can distinguish by name more than 200 objects and can even figure out the names of unfamiliar objects associated with familiar ones (attributed, as in the epilepsy cases, to the dog's high sensitivity to sight, sound and motion). From within these walls!

Prisoner of the Queen!

I COULD HAVE POISONED THE QUEEN

By Ryan Parry

A thick white napkin embroidered with the EIIR emblem lies folded on the table next to the cornflakes and porridge oats in their Tupperware containers.

Opposite, Prince Philip’s radio is set up in the exact place it sits every morning and space is cleared for the national newspapers, with the Racing Post on top of the pile.

The amazing scene is the setting for the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh’s breakfast at Buckingham Palace.

And I took this picture just minutes before the royal couple took their places at the table on the first-floor dining room.

It's a terrifying thought that it would have taken less time for a terrorist to poison the Queen's food.

As her footman, my job was to set out a plate of fruit and the cup and saucer for their Earl Grey tea and serve the Duke's cooked breakfast on the mornings he chose to have it.

My training involved my being given a detailed plan of the breakfast table, right down to the position of the honey and maple syrup and the silver spoons for the marmalade.

The Queen prefers toast with light marmalade – although she ends up feeding most of it to her corgis who gather at her feet under the table.

My first real glimpse of the monarch came on October 9 when I was on duty at the Grand Entrance of the Palace during an investiture.

It was the day actor Roger Moore and pop star Sting were honouredby the Queen in the historic ceremony.

I could hear the national anthem playing in the background and as she walked in a procession of household staff along the East Gallery, I glanced up to see her looking straight at me. I could easily have caused her harm at any moment.

Although I was given a full security pass, it was my uniform that effectively became my passport to Britain's royal residences.

A footman told me shortly after I arrived: “The uniform is your right of passage. The police and senior members of the household both know we're there to do a job.

“We've probably got more access to the Palace than any other member of staff. Even some of the royals haven't seen half the rooms we've seen.”

AND THIS STORY HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE ABOVE. I'M SURE CHARLES LOVES HIS MUMMY. OTHERWISE HE WOULDN'T BE SUCH A MUMMY'S BOY!

er expert chides Prince Charles

LONDON (Reuters) - A leading breast cancer specialist has criticised Prince Charles for his public support of alternative medicine.

Michael Baum, a professor emeritus of surgery at University College London, said the heir to the throne "may have overstepped the mark" by promoting unproven therapies for cancer such as coffee enemas and carrot juice.

"Your power and authority rest on an accident of birth. I don't begrudge you that authority, but I do beg you to exercise power with extreme caution when advising patients with life-threatening diseases to embrace unproven therapies," Baum said in an open letter published in the British Medical Journal on Friday.

But a spokesman for Prince Charles said the letter completely missed the point.

"The Prince of Wales is not promoting alternative medicine over orthodox treatments," he said. "He is the president of the Foundation for Integrated Health and he is passionate about integrated approaches to health care -- where complementary therapies work hand-in-hand with orthodox medicines."

In his letter, Baum said the prince had got it wrong.

"It is in the nature of your world to be surrounded by sycophants who constantly reinforce what they assume are your prejudices. Sir, they patronise you! Allow me this chastisement," added Baum, who has been active in cancer research for 25 years.

Prince Charles, a staunch campaigner for natural remedies and organic farming, has urged the government to include complementary medicine on the National Health Service (NHS).

Guard your dogs beffore they're gobbled!

Hot dog muncher sets world record From correspondents in New York July 5, 2004HE came, he ate, and he conquered ... again. Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi, of Japan, has downed a world-record 53-and-a-half hot dogs in 12 minutes at an annual contest in New York. Super-scoffer ... 'Tsunami' Kobayashi defends his title / AP He blew away his rivals for the fourth year in a row. The surprisingly diminutive 26-year-old "gurgitator" successfully retained the Mustard Yellow Belt – the World Cup of competitive eating – at the annual July 4 Nathan's Famous hot dog eating event in Coney Island. Using his trademark "Solomon technique" – breaking the wieners in half before wolfing them down – Mr Kobayashi easily surpassed his own 50-and-a-half-dog record, which he set in 2002. It was a one-two finish for Japan, with Mr Kobayashi's countryman, Noboyuki Shirota, taking the second spot after consuming a comparatively abstemious 38 hot dogs.

I am sooo glad that this type of "hot dog" is not on the menu! Otherwise, dunno about the world having a population shortage, there's be a puppy shortage

Blooming Heck!

Well, I am not advocating smoking to anyone, DO NOT EVER START, IF YOU DON'T SMOKE! But if this happened to moi! Would be sooo flabbergasted would have to sit down and have a cig to recover! And if he'd grabbed the last one out of my mouth, may resort to violence! Hit with me handbag/purse or sumpin'! And this is another reason to believe the stories about them using dogs in Chinese restaurants. I mean, this says it all! GASP! May even have to retort to using Maxtrix chop Phooey on him, like in the pic!

More Things to Worry About

(1) Anti-smoking crusader Zhang Yue, 44, who has worked in 60 Chinese cities, arrived in Hong Kong in May to showcase his unique form of encouragement: He simply walks up to smokers on the street and yanks the cigarettes out of their mouths. (2) In May in West Greenwich, R.I., Jeffrey A. Stevens, 39, and two passengers were arrested after a car chase on Interstate 95 for possession of a stolen license plate; at one point in the chase, according to police, one passenger pulled down the back seat, crawled into the trunk, and when Stevens popped it open, reached up and, at 60 mph, unfastened the incriminating plate (which Stevens later tried to discard along the road). Hyptnotic chant to keep awake!

Sleep induces wakeful times to be  living

I shall not sleep tonite. I shall not sleep tonite. I will not sleep.  Not!!

One can get phobias, and  then you realize they are a built in self preservation system.  A bit like the two minute warning is for the threat of nuclear war.   I refuse, abosolutely refuse to sleep,  unless I drop off and don't mean to!  Sleep should be a refuge,  yet   after almost two weeks of terrible sleep, owing to the itch that starts when my head explodes each nite as I doze,  I felt I slept better  last nite if only for about three hours.  Yet, like every nite,  when decent quality sleep seems to be had, whether it be in large doses or small, the affect is deadly.    Sleep and food. Two natural needs of man and woman kind.  Neither natural to moi!  But that's ok. I was sent on a mission. To be different.  To not be the  pack animal following the crowd. And gave that up when I couldn't be a good puppy!    On waking,  whether sleep has been for two hours or ten or twelve or even eighteen, three hours or  more it takes to be actually awake and ready to get going with the day.  I am different! Mad as a hatter  and  in what's the word,  the half dead half alive world.   the third realm.  Oh, I'm here. And often,   on  some kind of normal plane.  But have a habit of piloting my own plane too.  And  since we are such lousy single pilots,  that's where we need to let God take the  clutch. Or whatever thing drives a plane!  I ain't a genious you know!  Joystick?

Michael Jackson has his never, never land.  With, bubbles the chimp  and his whole surreal world.  (I worry for that chimp!)    I have the nether world invading reality and  fixing its gaze onto taking over the joint.   If I am crazy, I was infected so by the crazy world.   But, I ain't technically so. I have proof!

Go to bed, let someone play football with your head.  Yeah, not blooming likely.  Am not a dumb bunny you know!!

"These worms, darling
They're nibbling away at me
They go at it when I'm sleeping
Won't let me get to my feet"
Dying Slowly Lyrics
Artist(Band):Tindersticks

DISCLAIMER:  This is written tongue in cheek of course.  Tho has more than a hint of truth to it too!

Well, I posted this somewhere else, but thought it worth ponderizing over here too:  It is a poem but written by experts in the field who have been researching a link between childhood trauma and neuro conditions.

Hey,  you know,  I always think puppies are cute.  The cheeky charlie chappie types who  just watch you with adoring big puppy eyes,   and would lay down there life for you.   The greatest love is to lay down your life for a friend.  Yet,  puppies,  get badly treated to.  I had a schzoprhenic Jack Russell once.  And we knew within the first week of having her ,that someone had tried to drown her down the toilet.  I would hold her in my arms in bed, and all she would want to do was get up and pace around,  and she would sometimes bite my hands to try and let her go.  Yet,  she was really a jekyll and hyde kind of little gel.   Cos she could be adorable too.  And I would talk to her sleep,  as I found if I read a book, called "The three little ducks" she would sleep.  But that just proves how animlals as well as humans can be  moulded by their early life.  We had her when no more than ten weeks old. At 13 months old, we had her put to sleep,  as she was as mad as a hatter.  But there is also evidence emerging,  that trama and abuse can cause long lasting damage to people too. And this is a poem, but reflects much of what I've read about the subject:

Silenced Wounds of Child Abuse

Intensive research and data confirm
That child abuse constitutes a brain damage for sure-
And emotional injuries cause brain wounds
That are hard to heal, or child has to endure!
The damage caused by the child abuse
Can be noticed in inner structures of the brain-
While the sexual abuse in early childhood
Create a mental anguish or physical strain!

As per neuroscience, the irritability in vermis
Can slowly affect the electrical tension,
Of the limbic system that controls the emotions,
Difficult to ignore or not to mention!
Seizers and symptom like tingling, numbness/dizziness
May be experienced by the child-
Followed by uncontrollable staring or twitching,
Irrespective of the abuse, severe or mild!
During the temporal lobe epilepsy through a stimulation
Of the intricate amigdala region-
Distortions of shape/size, or mind-body dissociation
Are common, like in a loving pigeon!

Child abuse distorts the vermis that produces
Neurochemicals: epinephrine and dopamine-
And affect hippocampus* with amigdala
Where emotions are triggered to brain and shine!
Over the past several decades, it was thought
That child abuse could be erased upon time-
So a link between child abuse and offenders
Was designed to prove its worth over a dime!
Criminals for child abuse have been in general victims
Of child abuse in their early age-
Likewise parents who beat their children
May have been beaten by their elders with rage!
Thus the vicious circle of child abuse
Has been moving on in our society year after year-
And researchers have proved child abuse
Causes personality disorders to generate a fear!
Depression, schizophrenia, autism
And attention/deficit hyperactivity are only a few-
And these maladies are related to genetic
Or prenatal factors for a psychiatric review!

Child abuse can affect the fast neurochemical
Production of the vermis in the long run-
And may influence the mental health of a child
To grow up in love with the normal fun!
The vermis regulates the electric irritability
Of the limbic system, like in a winding clock-
While the reduced integration of left/right
Hemispheres of brain brings thoughts to flock!
Polarized dominance of one hemisphere
Causes the child to see people in a negative way-
And it produces abrupt or violent reaction
Based on surroundings instead of gentle sway!
The irritability of limbic system may cause
Aggression, exasperation and anxiety as well-
Followed by the self-destructive behaviors
As a start in child abuse for the mind to swell!

With changes in dynamics of modern society,
Millions are being subjected to child abuse-
And thus crop of criminals, drug addicts
Or child offenders are created to blow their fuse!
The condition of stress inflicted in a child's mind
Remains permanently wired somehow-
So his or her main usual reaction is one of hate,
Aggression/violence with a revenge vow!
Thus a chain of events, violence and abuse
Passes on from the generations to roll-
And the condition of self-abasement
With despondence prevails to create the toll!

Data reveals child abuse prevents adequate learning,
And now cries for an early detection-
And thus the action should be taken at an initial stage
Through tests or thorough selection!
Brain damage can be permanent and may pose
Grave repercussions on family or schools-
Followed by truancy or bad behavior,
Demanding on a check through neuroscience tools!
Child abuse is a serious problem in which
Alcoholism/home violence is a common cause-
So may I urge you to think and treat this issue
Of 'silenced wounds' with a serious pause?

Sleeping with the Enemy!

Well,  my normal crazy fascade,  is just that.  Yet crazy is at the heart of everything tonite.  In fact the whole day.  Except for brief moments of  light,  crazy is all there is.  And you know what?  There are probably phyiscal causes for this state of melancholia and  mind  misfiring.   As if they are right in what they suspect to be wrong with me, psychotic episodes is one of the complications.    And the crazy thing is.  (excuse the pun)  is that I have never had to cope with being crazy on my own before either.  I was always locked away with people on hand.  And drugs to dull the emotions and senses.    And now  there's no pills,   that I want to take,  as I know it will pass again,  and no one to call  or holler.  So,  are just left with the craziness, and river of tears.   And the images of long ago,  that keep flashing  up before me.  People,  some loved, some loathed.    And this morning I woke thinking  there was a realistic chance cos of how weird my head felt,  that  the morning wouldn't be gotten through in one piece.    Now,  I wonder why I bothered to worry about it.  An animal would be put out of its misery.  And I'm certainly no advoicate of Euthaniia.   But are sick  of,  living  in my broken body,  and when the mind goes too,  it seems unendurable.  And  I hope by at least the way the words  maybe stringing together here,  that crazy in a   purest form, is not  what I am.    But, crazy, and heartbroken,  and  afraid to live and afraid to die.    And some of the mismachinations of my brain,  make me a sitting duck, to defend myself against the enemy.  The rivers of tears, and  the images,   and the taunts and mockery is all there is.    And  cos I don't  self-mutilate anymore,  or  decided to do something desperate,  no help to be sought.& Tis actually true that foot note on the borderline sign.. tho it goes for physiucal maladies too. I should be dead now, and if counting on the doctors I would be. You could die easily before you are treated. And I figure when that happens they may be stand around after saying "oops"nbsp; And   are not angry about this day,  but How long O Lord.  How Long.

25The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
26It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD.
27It is good for a man that he bear
   the yoke in his youth.
28Let him sit alone in silence
   when it is laid on him;
29let him put his mouth in the dust--
   there may yet be hope;
30let him give his cheek to the one who strikes,
and let him be filled with insults.
31For the Lord will not
   cast off forever,
32but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion
   according to the abundance of his steadfast love;
33for he does not willingly afflict
or grieve the children of men.
