Chinese Takeaways!

Well,  unfortunately it would take me decades to find a relevant link for this country.  But,  years ago,  there started to be rumours abound that our chinese Takeaways,   (fast food places)  served dog in their menus.  And its highly illegal here.  Anyhow,  I never knew if this was a myth or fact.  But obviously have seen dreadful picturs of dogs being slain in Korea and other Asian countries.  One that sticks in my mind,  is a dog being hanged for food.

Anyway,  I was discussing this myth with a friend here about three weeks ago.  And she and her brother used to live not far from a chinese takewaway.  And her brother was forever in their  getting food.  And one day,  the police raided the place  after a tip off,  and they found umpteen dog carcasses out with the rubbish.  This friend is not the type prone to exageratoin or story telling,  but she did say she kept asking her brother if he felt like woofing yet...   no,  but at least it proved that it maybe the minority,  but it does happen.    So,  even tho I disliked the one chinese meal I had,  would not touch it with anyone's barge pole now!

And a further bit of useless info.  There is a ingredient in chinese food,  which people who may be prone to allergies such as urticaria seem surceptible to.  Largely cos of the high quantities they use I think.  As the same ingredient is used in crisps/potato chips but it doesn't affect the same.  I'm not sure of the spelling,  but its monsodium glutomonate.   In folks with allergies suchas the aforementioned,   often after eating a chinese meal,  they will itch uncontrollably.

So,  Eat Home grown food.  No dogs served up,  and not itchiness!

A time for Laughing, a Time for ponderizing:  Addendum to This

Remember this guy:    Well,   I poked fun,  not knowing if to believe the guy's slogan on his shirt was a joke or not.  And then saw something on TV that made me think, oh heck!  Foot in mouth desease!  Whether the guy was joking or not.  I was watching the story of a woman  who  used to be anorexic.  Not sure how bad that was, but she had it for two years.  And now,  13 years later, she is at the opposite end of the scale.  She is very, very over-weight and bullimic.  And the reason she  started having any eating disorders at all,  was cos she had abuse as a child,  and her eating as a teen was the one thing she could control.  As she felt all other control had been removed from her through being abused.  And she was full of self-loathing, and can't even look at herself in a mirror.  I think sometimes, myself included,  we can be too quick to judge a book by its cover!

1 Samuel 16
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

False Knowledge of God:  ContinuedFrom

. As experience shows, God scarcely one man in a hundred is met with who fosters it, once received, in
his heart, and none in whom it ripens much less shows fruit in season

Psalm 1:3. Besides while some may evaporate in their own

superstitions and others deliberately and wickedly desert God, yet all
degenerate from the true knowledge of him. And so it happens that no real piety remains in the world. But as to my statement that some erroneously slip into superstition, I do not mean by this that their ingenuousness should free them from blame. For the blindness under which they labor isalmost always mixed with proud vanity and obstinacy. Indeed, vanity joined with pride can be detected in the fact miserable men do not rise above themselves as they should, but measurehim by the yardstick of their own carnal stupidity, and neglect sound investigation; thus out of curiosity they fly off into empty speculations
They do not therefore apprehend God as he offers himself, but imagine him as they have fashioned him in their own presumption. When this gulf opens, in whatever direction they move their feet, they cannot but plunge headlong into ruin. Indeed, whatever they afterward attempt by way of >worship or service of God, they cannot bring as tribute to him, for theyfools of themselves
Romans  He had said before that they

became futile in their thinkingRomans 1:21. In order, however,

that no one might excuse their guilt, he adds that they are justly blinded.
For not content with sobriety but claiming for themselves more than is right, they wantonly bring darkness upon themselves in fact, they become fools in their empty and perverse haughtiness. From this it
follows that their stupidity is not excusable, since it is caused not only by vain curiosity but by an inordinate desire to know more than is fitting joined with a false confidence.

The Dinosaur Legend!

Anyone else who reads here like dinoasuars?  I think they're dead cute!  Would have one as a pet if possible!  One of the sad, doe eyed ones!  But,  I do have to say,  that when  I was being drawn by God,  yet unconverted,  that the bigest single thing I could not understand in creation was,  where did all the dinosaurs go?    Jurrasic park and the like,  even tho fictionalized at least from a historical point of view are  fed to us as fact.    And a real short few years ago,  they had this BBC documentary on here called "Walking with Dinosaurs"  which told the apparently "factual"  story of the life and death and extinction of most of the speciies. I have the videos of this serius.   But was sure confusing.    And there was another TV proggie too.  Think it was just called "space"  and it was about the so called "big bang" and so forth, also presented as irrefutable fact.   I was interested in these things,  never having an education and not having heard of them.  I thought the big bang meant a pile up on the motorway/freeway,    so  decided to watch and learn.    The dinasaurs one I watched, the space one I kept falling to sleep half way through.  Never did see it.    But every time I see a new story of some fossil or other being discovered and how it is dated and presented as fact,  it makes me think of the former brain washing. Its like Catholicsim in a way, and  the popish papacy!  If you've never had an minute to do with God or religion in any context, you still know most of what catholics believe.  You can't get away from it.  Tis brainwashing!    Trouble is,  if folks come from the right background,  and  are utterly hardedned to God,  it could in some small way brainwash them right into hell.  My pastor does Bible expo's at local schools.   And  he can present the Bible and what it teaches,  I don't think we are so restricting in that as over yonder,  but if he says about anything in the Bible, he can't say its fact.  he can only say stuff  like  "The Bible says" etc.  Yet dinosaurs, and King Kongs mother is spoonfed us as utter, undeniable fact.

This was the latest fossilized fossil story I came across:

Wrinkles are not just the bane of aging humans. Scientists have discovered the 95-million-year-old remains of a new species of dinosaur that suffered the same cosmetic injustice. The find, together with the unearthing of a related 135-million-year-old species, should help scientists better understand when the ancient continents of Africa, South America and India separated.

Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago and his colleagues recovered the dinosaur remains from Niger during two trips in 1997 and 2000. The 95-million-year-old skull is from a species the scientists named Rugops primus, which translates to "first wrinkle face." The 30-foot-long creature had a short, round snout, small teeth and a tough covering of scales. "It was hard to see which end was the front, but we quickly realized we were looking at a brain case, and that it was probably an abelisaur--a huge find," Sereno recalls. In addition, the Rugops skull has a row of seven holes on either side of its snout, which the scientists posit could have anchored an ornamental feature. The researchers also recovered the 135-million-year-old spine of another dinosaur, Spinostropheus gautieri, which is an ancient relative of Rugops and other abelisaurids.

Could be a rant in the making:

Docs appt calls.   Have to leave in around 90 mins.  Ain't banking on her actually doing anything,  as if you don't expect nothing, you don't get disappointed.  but  if she says no,  feel quite certain at this point,  that my premonintion of years ago,  of dying the same age as Elvis was when he poofed will come true.  Medicine is wonderful.  If you're a doc and make your living out of it.   I probably have a good legal case, and are humming and haaa'ing as I remember more and more facts over the years.  Of  mis diagnosis' mistreatments,  ignoring vital facts as being "normal"  and ha!  how that has come back to haunt me!    I have nothing against nurses, or doctors who do genuinly try to help people.  What I do object is the type who play God with other folks lives.    I have someone coming with me to liase.  Whether they are allowed to actually open their mouths and be my  mouthpiece I don't have a clue.  But if not. I'm in trouble!  Am inarticulate, terrified,   mouse like,  and seeithing with smouldering rage,  normally at doctors.     Or at least the rage is there come the end of the appt.  But,  I  just do my rolly eye thing,  and keep it in.  And then come home and  cry out to my Lord.    And the fact am here at all now,  is not thanks to any doc,  but to the Great Physician alone.  Two and a half years on from first getting sick,  apart from narcotics  and other symptom controlling pills,   not a thing done medically speaking.  And seeing as my head explodes almost every time I sleep,  and wake up with parts of memory missing,   who else but God is sustaining?  No One.

Heck,  some time last year,  when there was a question over if I was mentally unwell,  (in there minds)  they even used the fact that I had restarted smoking after several months of quitting.  Scuse?  don't almost all smokers who can't quit do that?

If was suicidal, I could get treatment.   Not suicidal  and mentally sound,  (as has been proved by medical people)  are basically left to die, at  least till now.  Now I may love irony,  but that goes a bit too far.

this isn't  written bitterly,  but is written with indignation.   At how you can be put into a box by a label,  and then refused to let out of it.    At least my old doc had a sense of humour,  When I came out of of his office the receptionist always asked what I'd done to him cos he was laughing so loudly.  This one,  is  ummm....  different.  And can't find her niche or  where she's at.    Oh, well,  chocks away... and all that.    If it all goes pear-shaped will be no worse off than now.  If something positive comes,   it will be a time for  minor cheering.

But whatever does happen,  will just have to assume and believe that God's will was done in it.

Weird Inventions:

If someone can invent something as crazy as the indoor sundial,    then why can't there be more simple and useful and practical things made for folks who like peace and quiet?  I have a fan going round in my room,  it has three speeds,  and if on top speed,  I can't read cos the noise of the fan puts me off.  So, if weird things like the above can be inented,  and  the home lie detector    then why not noiseless high speed fans and other things of singular useful usefulness?    But maybe it takes someone of real geniosity to invent the things that are actually useful to someone!    Not someone out to make a name for themselves,  for inventing the most totally useless product!

Stephen Lawerence  Brief
timeline of his murder and following events

This kind of sums up the events accurately,  even tho said by the victims mother.  both she and her husband,  were pictures of dignity and composure throughout the whole of the gruesome murder and consequent following events,  which led to the Metropolitian Police in an official govt enquiry being branded as institutionally racist

'My son was stereotyped by the police: he was black, then he must be a criminal[his] crime was that he was walking down the road looking for a bus to take him home. Our crime is living in a country where the justice system supports racist murders against innocent people.' (Doreen Lawrence)    Full Story

And at the other exteme:

And yet two boys... both just about ten years old,  (and both white)  murder the toddler Jaime Bulger  torturing him first,  and they are treated with kid gloves.  They don't' serve a day of real time.  They are sentence to ten years in a young offenders institution after which at 18 years old, with their whole lives ahead of them,  they are given new identies,  to avoid being recognized and to avoid there crime following them around.  They are even given money in the bank  as part of their new start.  Because they were both "tried as adults"  tho still receieved kid gloves sentence, there whole trial was bought into question.  Yet there sentence, as the N.Y. Times quite rightly said,  was "bloody insanity"   When it was decided these two murdering boys,  still both teens were to be released, it was seen as an act of "compassion"   What about Denise Bulger,  (Jaime's mom) whose marriage broke under the strain of what happened.  What about the life lost of that little one?   Whose going to fight for Jaime's right to live in a world without at two years old being unmercifully tortured and killed?

An eye for an eye,  says the O.T.    Whose going to  give back the innocence,  and joy of Jaimes Bulger and many others who may survive and live into old age.    The law of this land no longer believes in Divine retribution in following what God teaches about  punishing crime.   Vengeance is mine,  says the Lord,  and don't doubt that in due time,  it will be exacted.  But in the meantime,  it sickens many people to the core,  that  teens like Stephen Lawerence can happily become a statistic because of the colour of his skin.  And the white nazi supremes who murdered him,  can mock the law with the laws help.    And it sickens too that  little guys like Jaime Bulger are another statistic,  and his memory is mocked too.  And his murderes allowed to be Scott free in the name of compassion.

Calvin's First Catechsim  Continued From  & From

The Difference between
True And False Religion:

It is a  matter of common agreement that without true religion we live a most miserable life, not above the level of  brute beasts, and consequently there is no one who wishes to appear more completely alien to piety and the worship of God.  Yet, there is a great difference in the way men declare there religion, for the majority goes by an earnest fear of God. But,  whether they want to or not, they are repeatedly bought up short by this thought,  that there is a divinity, by whose decision they stand or fall.  Consequently,  struck by that notion of such great power, they venerate it after a fashion in order not to call it down upon themselves by excessive contempt.

Yet, in the meantime they lead a most depraved life completely devoid of all zeal for uprightness, and display utter nonchalance in their contempt for God's judgment.  Then,  because they measure God not by His infinite majesty but by the foolish and stupid vanity of their own nature,  they fall away from the true God.  Accordingly, with however much they afterward weary themselves over worshipping God,  they get nowhere,  since it is not the eternal God but the dreams and ravings of their own  heart they are adoring as God.  But true Godliness does not consist  in a fear of which willingly indeed flees from God's judgements, but since it cannot escape is terrified.  True Godliness consists rather in a sincere feeling which loves God as Father as much as it fears and reverences him as Lord, embraces his righteousness and dreads offending Him worse than death.  And whoever have been endowed with this Godliness dare not fashion out of their own rashness any God for themselves.  Rather they seek from him the knowledge of the true God, and conceive him just as he shows and declares himself to be.

Commentary by Hesselink

The Difference between true and false religion is "true Godliness" (pietas) and worship of God on the one hand, and those who "untouched" by an earnest fear of God  "adore" the dreams and ravings of their own heart on the other.

Calvin takes it for granted that all people are religious in some sense, however ignorant or barbarous they maybe.  All people have a certain vague, confused notion of God and consciousness of his existence.  For "no human being can be found, however barbarous or completely savage, untouched by some awareness (sensu) of religion."  Even those who reject God  "whether they want to or not, they are repeatedly bought up short by this thought,  that there is a divinity by whose decision they stand or fall."  Nevertheless,   "they lead a most depraved life.....  display utter nonchalance in their contempt for God's judgment"   Why?  Because measure God not by His infinite majesty but by the foolish and stupid vanity of  their own nature.  God created humankind in His image  (see Gen 1:26-27)  James 3:9)  and has planted   "the seed of Religion in all people,   but this image has been so mutilated and deformed by humanities rebellion and fall that no true religion is found in the world.  (Institutes 1.4.1)  In true religion people "conceive him [God]  just as he shows and declares himself to be."  (sec 2)  That is,  we must not measure God by the yardstick of "our own carnal stupidity,"  but rather as God offers Himself to us in His Word.  (Inst.  1.4.1.)

Genetically repositioned!

(This blog was prepard before the Sabbath but sent on it)

Have y'all heard the saying that we have Genetic dispositions towards something?  Well,  have come to the conclusion,  that largely I am genetically re-positioned!!  I have no way of knowing if anything odd is in my genes,  having no blood line around.    And have felt since everything went wrong,  at an early age,  that it maybe genetic in some  aspects of it.

The long puzzle may soon be solved,  as everything at least some of my demise the last year or two,   is pointing to things all along the way.  But we are all fearfully and wonderfully made, of that there is little doubt,  but wish sometimes too,  we  were easier to understand.
