If I Could Tell You

When my new webspace is active, (its proving very frustrating going transatlantic!! Sheesh!) I may well change back to wordpress. As this company makes it quite simple to not keep deleting ones blog irretriveably as I used to do when using wordpress with my current webspace host.I cannot believe the time ALREADY! (Sheesh!) I have spent the four hours since waking making phone calls, seeing to this and that, I only just now managed to get myself dressed for the day! So, shall turn into a regular production line now! I was listening to a sermon earlier, on the history of the WEstminster Assembly, and got the phone call about the elderly releative being taken into hospital which totally shipwrecked my concentration to go back to it after the phone call. orrent of emotions that will not be anything that should exist within families. Human beings are complex. Someone said that to me a few weeks ago, and thought they were talking about someone else, and it was moi!! But tis true, we are!
If I Could Tell You. |
W. H. Auden
Time will say nothing but I told you so,
Time only knows the price we have to pay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.
If we should weep when clowns put on their show,
If we should stumble when musicians play,
Time will say nothing but I told you so.
There are no fortunes to be told, although,
Because I love you more than I can say,
If I could tell you I would let you know.
The winds must come from somewhere when they blow,
There must be reasons why the leaves decay;
Time will say nothing but I told you so.
Perhaps the roses really want to grow,
The vision seriously intends to stay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.
Suppose all the lions get up and go,
And all the brooks and soldiers run away;
Will Time say nothing but I told you so?
If I could tell you I would let you know
