It was the local government elections here yesterday, where local councillors and civil authorities in local borroughs are elected. I didn't vote. But these elections always reflect on central government in how popular they may be at any given time. Tony Blair and his merry men apparently lost over 200 seats, so alot of folks in central government have got fired or moved to other positions this morning! A desperate leader, hanging on? Well, he will not be Prime Minister for the next general election but doubt he wants to go out on a note of unpopularity. |
